ENGINEERING vs MEDICINE "IS UNEMPLOYMENT A PROBLEM IN ENGINEERING"?

I would like to make a slight change in my opinion on the
hot cake in debate "engineering vs medicine" about which I had published
another post which I repeat below.

The crisis in the world economy is showing a negative trend in the
private sector. The USA president had given the signs of reducing
outsoursing. The companies have decided to reduce the new posts, that means campus recruitment programme is highly abridged. Most of the students who had qualified even the last interview are not invited for the job. "Unemployment after B.Tech " is a real fact under the current
circumstance. If the economy recovers soon the companies may
recruit larger number of students. The downturn in the economy
is well reflected in the landslide collapse of SATHYAM co. which was
once the best IT sector in India.
We all hope that the current situation will change soon.

If you are interested to make money as fast as possible, you just opt engineering because good job will be under your custody within 4 years after +2. A doctor requires 5 years M.B.B.S course to get into the stream and at least 4 years specialization to get a good reputed occupation. If you are to gain a good status in the society, and you have surplus money to spend out you can choose medicine. In engineering you need to UNDERSTAND things. In medicine you just need to mug up things.Engineering requires good grasping power, I.Q, and thinking power.Medicine wants extreme momory power and learning skills. The foundation of Engineering is Mathematics. If you are 80+ in maths you can do good in engineering.Medicine needs profound knowledge on every little aspect of your study.for example, in engineering if you learn about Fourier series, you just learn the general formula. If you are brilliant in maths you can do any problem regarding that context. In medicine if you learn about vertebral column of human being, you should know the name of every vertebrates, the diseases that may affect it, the remedies etc.Without vast knowledge you can not perform well.

funny thing to note:
A doctor gets admitted through the security department of any airport in Europe if he/she produces the certificates. But an engineer need to undergo all sorts of troubles, even nude check up no matter what the gender defines.

THANKING Mr.Ronny who added some more to this topic

The Medicine has now become an ever lasting Study course...thanks to Mr
ramdoss, the previous Health Minister, who has made the 2 years Rural services
before PG entrance...therefore the present course stretchesas follws:
1) MBBS 5 years course+1 year Internship+1 years Rural service = 7 years
when you become MBBS (GRADUAte only, NO GOOD)

2) 1 year u waste for PG entrance

3) 3 years in PG course + 1 year optional for 4th year( u become MS or MD,
little good, after 12 years from mbbs entrance)

4) 2years for Superspeciality entrance(lucky there if you get what u want
at FIRST SHOT, omit this then)

5) 3 years for Superspeciality( this is if you are CHUMS with your teacher,
who passes you at first SHOT, else add a year here),the prospects start to
improve from here, but still you are a NOVOICEsurgeron, i won't sleep on your
table, i may try maybe after 5 years thereafter.....
IF YOU DARE COUNT THE NUMBER OF YEARS YOU SPENT TO BECOME A GOOD?
DOCTOR....BY THIS TIME YOUR ENGINEER FRIEND IS A MIDDLE/SENIOR LEVEL
MANAGER

ADD YOUR OPINIONS ...

THAT MAY HELP THE NEW COURSE SEEKERS.
